Engine Misfire question
Yesterday evening when I left work, the engine caughed when started. It misfired like it was running on 5 cylinders the entire drive home which is about 15 miles stop and go. The CEL flashed while driving but would sometimes hold steady at idle. I thought of stopping at a parts store to have it read, but was afraid to stop and turn it off. After arriving home, I went under the hood to look for obvious wires off, etc., but found nothing. I restarted and it ran smooth. I removed the battery post to reset the CEL, restarted, drove it around. This morning it started at 24 degrees; I drove to work; no CEL; running smooth.
It is a 2001 60th Anniversary Edition with 121,000 miles. Any thoughts?
