Engine bay help.
I just picked up my 86 XJ a couple of weeks ago. I got my blinkers working now I need to figure this mess under the hood out. I got the Jeep from a tow service on the cheap and I am starting to see why now. They told me the 2.8 had a knock and replaced it. Well the person they towed it from had already put on an Edelbrock intake and Holley carb. Now I'm not sure if it is still a 2.8 because it has the serpetine belt setup off of a 3.4L.
Now for the problems I'm having.
1.) Extra vacuum lines that dont go anywhere/not connected/missing. The Jeep runs great. What vacuum lines can be taken out and which ones have to stay. Any how-to's or diagrams.
2.) How do I check which engine I really have?
3.) My lower radiator hose is 3 or 4 sections of different ones put together. I haven't checked at the parts store for a standard one because I just got it road worthy. But if it is a 3.4 does anybody know the part number for a lower hose or would it be better to switch radiators for better flow, entry/exits?
Any help or links would be great thank you in advance.
