My 86 XJ, originally a 2.8L (Far from that now) with gauges not idiot lights. My problem is the temp gauge goes full hot after running 5 minutes from stone cold. The sender is new and was supposed to be for a gauge not light. The gauge works fine, pull the wire off and it's on the bottom. Grounded it tops out. I've checked a couple places and now all I can find is a sender for a light.

My last ditch plan is put a double throw switch in and make my trans temp gauge pull double duty.

Anything I'm missing? I need the correct sender.

It's screwed in a adapter to get it in the intake.
