No code read yet. It just happened for the first time tonight. I was also thinking O2 sensor, BUT being a Renix motor wanted to ask..

It's set to come on at set intervals, to remind you to have your emission equipment tested to verify it's functionality. It just needs to be reset. If I remember correctly.

Ok just to clarify this since I have the same thing.. You have a little box not sure where but under the drivers dash that has a timer and only way to turn it off is to remove the box or what ever it is or have the dealer turn the site off. The purpose is to come on at specified intervals to remind you to check your O2 sensor and other emissions components. That's it. It's not telling ya your jeep is sick or anything at all. I just took the bulb out in the dash.

box is located under the drive'rs side knee board, to the right of the vent @ the knees location.

it is clear, with gears in it.

remove it, toss it, and then turn your truck on and off 5 times. this should turn off the emiss. light. if it doesn't, disconnect your battery for a few minutes and it should be off.

how many miles on your xj? they're supposed to come on somewhere around 80,000 miles.

The new motor in it has about 80K on it right now. So I'm guessing all those were reset when the new motor was in stalled. (New cause it's a Jasper engine) PO had the motor installed a few years back..

Thanks for the info, I have to get under the dash any how and replace my wiper delay box..( have a spare.)

no, the "box" can't be reset. it's a sealed unit. it gets replaced.

which I doubt it was, because they no longer make them.

how many miles on the body?
