Out of nowhere today my emergency brake seems to have stopped working... as in when I pull back the handle to engage the brake, it doesn't ratchet to lock into place. It still feels like it's connected because I can feel resistance when I pull it up as far as I can go, but the ratchet mechanism no longer works. What could have caused this? Is the ratchet mechanism located on the handle or elsewhere? I've never dealt with an e-brake before so I don't even know where to begin to look to see what's gone wrong...

Mine did the same thing when I bought it, so I went to a JY and picked up another one for 15 bucks. There is a button and spring mech and if that is all dorked up, you may as well find another one.

 

Cool, there is a U-pull not far from me so I should be able to get another one pretty easily. Thanks for the advice.
