hi i have a 91 xj 4.0. i went to jumpstart it today cause it was sitting for a while and the battery is dead. when my friend went to crank it, i saw a big spark come from the positive cable and i could hear something like an electric motor whirring, and my wipers suddenly kicked on (switch was definitely off), smoke started coming from under the dash, gauges dont work at all, radio kicked off and wont turn back on, no brake lights, turn signals or hazards, though tail lights and headlights all still work. it will only start if jumped, and will run as long as cables are connected, dies a minute or so after running on its own. Help me please

 

omg that sounds horible! Sorry thats no help lol, all I can say is check fuses but the smoke under the dash sounds like a much bigger problem...
