Exclamation Electrical problem (i think) HELP!!!

so this is the story. about a week ago i drove to work like usual no problem. about 4 hours later i went to go leave for lunch. i started the jeep up an it immediately dropped to about 250 rpm and stayed there. it seemed like it was going to stall out but never did. i proceeded to go for a drive and noticed that when driving normally everything was fine but when i would come to a stop the rpm would drop right back down again. i thiought the battery might be the issue (only a year old) so i took is to sears for testing. turned out to be bad. got home and installed a new one and everything was normal for about a week and then all of a sudden the same thing was happening at idle. when i rev it up to about 2000+ and let off it drops to 250rpm but when i just blip the throttle real quick it sometimes stalls out. i really need to figure out whats wrong to see if i can fix it myself. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Did you check your throttle position sensor?

doesnt make sense that it would be the alternator b/c it starts up and runs right? when you have it running do you notice power diminish? you can always take your alt. in to autozone to test it if you think that could be it
