Default Electrical Mess!

My jeep is a 1999 Cherokee Sport 6 cylinder and...

The stereo is not playing. One would think the stereo is broke except for the fact that when I take a sharp turn sometimes it will come on and when I hit a bump and it's on it'll turn back off. I can hear the back speakers come on when I turn the jeep on so I know they are getting power and the stereo itself seems to be fine it's playing the CD I have in but for some reason the sound is not coming out of the speakers.

Not only that but sometimes when I turn my jeep on I have no gages no speed no oil reading no battery power reading nothing, but the jeep still runs fine.

Then my right headlight is dimmer then my left by a considerable amount. That doesn't even make sense because the headlights are run on the same ground I thought. I've replaced the headlight but that didn't do anything.

I have checked and rechecked the fuses none are broken.

Any ideas? It could be the grounds but I have no idea where to find the grounds on my jeep.

My obvious and thoughtless guess would be a loose connection somewhere.......

That's what I thought but I've torn apart the whole consol and checked all the wires the problem is the wires come out of the back of the stereo down under my steering wheel and then I loose them.

There are just soooooo many possibilities. Its one of those things you'll probably fix by accident and never know what the issue was.

SOunds like a BAD GROUND. There are a few spots you can check grounds.

One the battery to the fender

Battery to engine block

the back of the engine above the intake manifold

then in the back rt tail light housing there is a ground there also. I have not personally witnessed this one I have just read that is were one of your aux circuits ground is.

Check those out or add some more.
