Default Electrical Issues / Heat Issues

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee and I am having a few problems with it. First off the controls on my door panel will cut in and out if I open and close my door. When I want to roll my window down or up I will have to open the door and and close it slowly until I find the sweet spot for the controls to kick on. I can tell when its going to work because the lights on the door panel will turn on and when they turn off nothing works. Does this sound like a wiring issue? The other issue I am having is my radiator fan doesn't seem to be working. Is this always supposed to be on or only when it gets to a certain temperature? I seem to remember it turning on when I would turn my A/C on, but I have not had A/C working for awhile now. I actually just got a hole in my radiator end tanks because I believe it was getting to hot. I live in southern Louisiana and I think the heat last summer might have taken its toll.

Everything I've read says '00-'01 efans turn on when coolant temp reaches 218F, not when the compressor engages....unless the dealer re-programed the ECU to turn the efan on when the compressor engages (like '99 down).

door issue sounds like busted wires in the driver's door jamb, probably in the bellows area - I don't have power windows but my driver's side speaker crapped out, it was that same wiring.

OK thanks for the quick response. My jeep normally runs at 210 F so that would explain the fan not running. As far as the wires go, I'm going to try to take the door panel off sometime this week to check it out if this rain ever lets up. Thanks again!

If you can get the controls to work by moving the door, I'd think it's a problem in the wires inside the rubber boot coming out of the door into the body, (like N8N said) not behind the door panel. It 'could' be something loose behind the panel, but more likely inside the boot. That's called a bellows? Works for me
