Electrical Issue... Cig lighter.

Electrical Issue... Cig lighter.
I have an 89 laredo and my lest trip out to the Ocala national forest ( Florida ) I went to plug in a spot light in the cig lighter and right when i pluged it in, My jeep just died.... you shoulda seen my face, but when i tryed to restart it, it would start, and and just slowly die, and it would do that again and again and then would finally start and stay running, and when i pluged the light back in, it did it again... And it blew the radio fuse. what the heck is causing this??? A short or something???
