Default Electrical, ground question

Does anyone know where the ground is located at on the left side of the xj? The p.o. Must have had problems with the ground on the left side because all the lights on the left side of the vehicle have cut ground wires with new ones spliced in from the right side.

My speakers don't work on the left side and either does my rear passenger window. I'm guessing they both may have something to do with a bad ground.

Any help to find the main ground connection on the left side would be much appreciated.

Thanks to the p.o. This thing is an electrical nightmare.

Thanks in advance.

What All lights on the left side? Exterior front and rear? Headlights, runnng lights, brake lights, turn signals?

These items may have nothing to do with the lights problem (?)

What kind of clarification?

I'm just trying to find a good place to start to find the broken ground wire on the left side of the vehicle.

I could not find anything at the headlights or taillights. That is where i was having problems. The previous owner ran a ground "jumper" wire from the right side tail light to the left side to make it work. And he made a new ground up front to do the same thing to the left front running lights.

Do you have a volt/ohms meter? If so, you need to test the grounds the PO created. So if I understand you correctly the PO tapped into the factory harness and cut and spliced his own grounds in?

So I just did a search for headlight ground and it looks like you should have two ground wires next to your air box and PCM. These grounds are for the left and right headlights clean them up and if possible wire them back into the factory harness. Ill keep looking to see if I can find the other factory ground locations.

To answer your first question; yes he spliced from the right side. I do have a Meyer and will check.

To you second response; ok i week check those and clean them regardless. Are those associated with the running lights by chance because that was the original problem that stated all this.

Ive Also searched the main grounds are dip stick tube , firewall to cylinder head and battery to fenderwell tracing back trom farthest point backs pretty much whats gotta be done . The odds of some one knowing exactly where each little ground is pretty outrageous but ya never no .
