Electrical gremlin
1998 4.0 auto...
Now here is the issue, when I hit the button on the dash for the rear wiper, it locks and unlocks the doors.
Does anyone have a clue where I should even begin to start looking?

Sounds like you have a short somewhere. I am not too sure where the wires for the wiper and the wires for the locks cross paths but that's probably where your issue is. I would start tracing wires.
