Default Electric Unlock

Hi all,

I am reposting a previous post that potentially I may not have been clear about. I am having a problem with the driver side unlock switch. I have tried to search online for a solution to the problem. Thinking it maybe a broken wire or something but how do I go about checking this?

Thanks,

TJ

I don't have one, never worked on one. If it works at all or sometimes it probably is not the fuse. A wiring diagram would really help. Lot's of problems are with the wires, especially the connections. I take it there is a master switch that does all the locks. To me that would indicate that there IS a relay. (or relay(s)). If it fails with both the door switch and the master switch I would suspect the relay or the solenoid. Also, make sure it's cleaned and lubed. I use allot of spray chain and cable lube. Don't know it that is right, but it makes lubing all sorts of things easy which has to be better than no lube at all!

Are you familiar with a typical DMM and the continuity function? Pull your driver's side door panel off until you can get to the master door lock switch combo. then pull the driver's side kick panel off and find the bundle of wires coming thru the flexible door cable run. Now you will need to test continuity between each wire coming off the door combo switch and the wire in the kick panel area, and see which one is broken most likely going thru the door jamb.

Thanks all, especially scorpion I will be sure to do all that the door jam note will probably be most helpful because I wouldn't of thought to go down that far. I would probably just looked at the back of the switch lol.
