I have a 91 cherokee w/5 spd manual @ 4.0 2wd. Vehicle starts fine, runs fine untill the l/r turn signals are used or it is placed into reverse. If either of these happens, vehicle dies immediately. Vehicle will restart after several seconds. None of the other vehicle systems affect the problem, headlites,wipers,brakes,4ways. I took it to a local jeep dealer, and even though I told them the money thing wasn't an issue, after five days they quit working on it. I am going to pull the rear wiring harness to seek a short as that seems to be the only thing the problem has in common. Do any of you folks have any thoughts?

 

Looks like your on the right track. Pulling a whole harness sucks, but any shop is gonna charge a fortune! Start tearing her down, & get back to us with some info/pics of what you find.

Don't forget to check the ignition switch behind the ignition key cylinder. Just a thought.

 

Found the gremlin. It was in the engine side of the fuse block. Pictures and write up to come as time permits.
