my 2000 seems to be running a little hot....temp gauge reads at 210 but the engine and manifolds seems warmer then normal....radiator and thermostat have been done recently...still have old temp sensor, but the electric fan is not coming on....i let it idle and reach normal operating temp but fan never turned on....i know i could pull it off and run power to it to see if it works. but is there any other sensor that could need to be replaced that would kick the fan on?

my jeep was on some jackstands for about a month while i was putting in new rear shocks , rear brakes, fuel pump and filler vent and hose, shackles and finally got it driveable....unplugged the cts and fans is going...i assume that my cts is bad if it never kicks the fan on...is this correctly assumed?

From what I understand, the ac does not activate the efan on this year model. It is temp sensitive(218) I wasnt a "fan" of that so I wired in a relay and switch and turn it on when needed.

allright here is the deal... i checked both fuse boxes and fuses seem good...i havent tryed putting different ones in and tested....could it possibly be a relay... i pulled the cts connector and the fan runs fine... i replaced the cts and same deal...fan wont kick on....some information i may add....some wires on the fuel bar touched the exhaust manifold and burnt a little: not all the way through and i taped each wire up and then all together..could this have caused some type of short? worst comes to worst i could wire the auxillary switch but i would rather get it working like normal...what am i overlooking here?

jeep is 2000 but i put in a 98 4.0 and its components along with putting in an ax 15 from the 98 in place of the auto tran from the 2000...does 98 have any differences as far as the electric fan....i believe the fan is from the 2000

you can jump the 2 hot wires on the relay to see if the fan kicks on...will test you back to the relay. i am looking for the diagram now, but i'm pretty sure its the middle 2 pins

well my whole issue was it was feeling hotter than normal: although temp gauge read normal...i know the fan def works and now that i got a new cts in the jeep does not seem to run as hot so i am thinking that the cts was not working properly. my jeep stays at 210 and basically whole cooling system is new....water pump, thermostat, radiator, all new hoses and clamps and just recently the cts so i think i will be okay....i just thought it was weird the engine felt hotter than the norm and the fan was still not kicking on..thanks everyone for your input
