Default Electric Fan Issue

I'm not sure if this is problem, but I just wanted to get some feedback from other XJ owners. When ever I am at a stop, i can hear my electric fan start, running for a couple of seconds, then turn off. It might also be doing this while I'm driving, but I just can't hear it. Should I be worried?

It is controlled by two different things 1) A/C 2) coolant temp. Most likely the coolant temp bringing it on this time of year. As soon as the temp gets low enough the fan will quit. This is the way it is designed and it seems to be working correctly.

Yeah, count yourself good until you have overheating problems. Hopefully you won't have them but, XJs are good for giving you that fun experience.

Damn, Blue's a pimp! Also, your defroster will signal it to cycle on and off like your A/C.

Maybe because your defroster uses your A/C pump to dehydrate the air. I know...Smart A$$ but, I couldn't resist.

IF I DON'T hear my electric fan it is because:

A: Music is too dayum loud.
B: It's not functioning and I should start worrying.

Usually, its "A"

Little tip for overheating: Turn A/C on MAX/cold and fire up blower fan. Works alot better than turning on the heat/DEFROST. It will drop temp down 20-25* almost instantly...almost.
