Would the electric fan be ok to do the cooling on my 97 xj? That is all it has right now. I have read about the taurus/mark electric fan upgrades, but was just curious if anyone is running just the stock electric unit..Maybe two stock electric fans??

 

I heard two stock fans wont fit. Also, I think the mech-fan replacement has to be a puller. And the taurus e-fan-- forget it. The amp draw is like 60 AMPS, and your stock alt only makes 90 AMPS, plus the taurus fan has a 100 AMP start up. Its rough. But dont lose hope. There are other fans that you can cram in there that do well, just remember to set up a second relay for it. Good luck

 

<-------- see the pic? almost any reasonible flat 16in electric fan you can find will fit into stoack shroud. cfms are the hard part to figure out. a good way to get one that works well is make sure it is the primary fan on the vehicle you take it from. Forgiens are great. Mine is the bigger fan from a 96-99 ford taurus

 

I would figure as long as your not doing any heavy mudding or crawling thestock fan should be ok. Honeywell makes a neo didium(sorry about the spelling) lines motor that will fit. Puts out tons of power. Would be a home made mod job but I've seen it done
