Default Electric fan

Quick question i was thinking about switching over to an electric fan for the radiator and going to a better radiator than stock and doing some hood vents. Wondering if someone has done all of this? and looking for some opinions. But i have no idea how the electric fan will stand to being in water because it is going to be in the water and i was concerned about it breaking. Not going to go out and do it tomorrow just looking for a little bit of info about it before i buy it.

first the radiator. I just had to swap out my radiator with one i got at the junkyard, cause she would bust over the 210 mark after driving for 20min. that said the stock rad is just fine and my temps never go over the 210 mark anymore!! now I have heard of the infamous 3 core and a buddy spent some dough buying one, it is now one year later and his cherokee is overheating again. found out the the 3 core rads don't give the proper back pressure on the water pump and it can cavitat and go out over time. So stick to a new or refurbed rad and just keep up on the maintenance. BTW my old rad i took out weighed in at 24 pounds!!! the new on just under 12, that is how clogged it was.

as for electric fans the ones that withstand the water are the ones that have the ring attaching each blade to the next at the end, just like the stock fans do. I have played with other electrics and the blades bend and break when submerged and the stock has yet to die of the same fate.

this is all based on my observations and there is no other fact then what I have witnessed.

If you are going to submerge a high performance electric fan, put in a cut out switch. They build up heat trying to move water the same way they do air. Hood vents are a great idea. I am in the middle of doing my own.
