On Renix era Jeeps the EGR circulates some exhaust gas into the cylinders to re-burn it. I think I want to remove everythig concerning that system. Does anyone see a problem developing from that removal?

It's going to depend....
You are correct where its purpose is to introduce exhaust gases into the combustion stream. The purpose of that is to lower the combustion temperature and reduce emission levels...
So the smog ***** are going to be a big force here. Is your local smog inspection a 'visual' one or just a sniffer???? This was one of the things that kept me from taking a job on the left coast... I would have to smogged all my vehicles where I don't have to here.
In theory you will be introducing more unburnt hydrocarbons into your down stream air, if we Renix-heads had a CEL to set, you may have a problem there as the O2 sensor would want to keep leaning the mixture out.

no no no no blue, no takey offy the egr. i was not correct, this was the nutter update i was talking about and its only on the 4.2 carb engines. you take off the egr and your engine will run about 20 degress hotter and its no good at all for the engine, it has no value to remove it at all. unless you need the space and you will be screwing with the temp of the engine doing so.
yeah, that's great.
especially considering H.O.'s (produced 1991+) don't have EGR's
don't take it off, the engine won't run right without it. make sure your vacuum hoses are all good and you'll be fine.

I don't see it being a problem, I removed it off a '89 XJ I had a while back with out any problems at all.. Most my 4 popper imports I've also removed them from over the years.. And never had a issue..
