I'm sick of looking for a new truck and all the hs involved. My jeep randomly stalls. It's a 94 with a 99 grand Cherokee engine. Had it at the mechanic and he said he had to go thru a bunch of crank positioning sensors to get one to work and it still stalls. Is there anyway I can tear out the ecumenical crap and run a carb until I have more money to buy something new?

 

I'm not trying to insult. But I think it would be cheaper and easier to get a new mechanic.

Efi > Carb. Period

 

Bad strategy. You need to isolate your problem.

The EFI system on the 4.0 is actually pretty darn hardy and reliable.
