Anyone ever use poli-grip instead of gasket sealer? Just wondering.

Yeah, citric acid is the active ingredient in most of them now. It's so-so.
The over the counter radiator flush used to actually work. Problem is it was strong stuff and Joe Shadetree didn't bother to read the instructions and just left it in the radiator.
Then when the leaks started to appear they complained to the companies that made the radiator flush.
In response, the companies neutered the product. It's safe- won't burn holes in your radiator, but it won't clean it very well either.
A quart of white vinegar works about as well on scaly deposits and Cascade actually works better on general dirt, oil and slime.

I've heard of some other alternative uses, involving keeping it in your nightstand..... The Poli-Grip....

Good to know. I wonder if it would be safe to use in the crankcase for an engine flush? I've seen some crankcase cleaners in Sears before, but always wondered how much flushing it would take to get the product out of your engine...
