Default E- Brake Light

i recentley bought a 98 cherokee xj and the emergency brake light stays on, on the dash. i took the console off and checked the plug and its fine and the handle makes contact with it but the light still wont go off. help!!!! cus its anoying

check the sensor in the porportioning/combo valve under the master cyl, this may be bad/stuck. just unplug and see if your light goes out.

Are you sure that it has to do with the e-brake? remember that light doubles for brake problems too maybe check your brake fluid just to be sure
