Do you guys get any droning in the cabin? I just put on the Walker QuietFlowSS muffler on my 2000 and I get a really annoying drone with light load at about 1900-2200 RPM. The Walker (makes DynoMax) is pretty much just the stock replacement which I wanted because I want quiet and it has a lifetime warranty. The drone just drive me crazy, about as bad as the OEM unit that was all rusted out.

Alright well then I'd say try ordering from another place, like rockauto or maybe advanced auto or you could do a few different parts stores depending on price. I'd definetly send the old one back once you find a new one though, that's ridicules to have a brand new exhaust drone.

So I called Walker and the guy I talked to said the most common reason for the drone is the hangers being pulled one way or the other. They need to hang straight down. I'm going to re-weld the hanger right behind the muffler back on straighter (didn't get it on where I needed to when I welded it back on the first time) and I have a new rear hanger on order. I'm hoping that fixes the problem. I'll post the results when I find out. I wouldn't have thought that a hanger pulling to the side could set up a resonance in the body.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but did any of you guys have to cut the exhaust off? I recently went to remove mine from the muffler back but it had a serious crimp in the pipe from the factory. Had to cut it off but doesnt look like i have much room to bolt on a muffler before i get to the oxygen sensor post cat.
I was at first thinking of installing a muffler with a turn down but because of how loud it is im going to have to go with a kit like this.

Mine rotted through right there. I just welded a piece of connector/extension pipe onto the pipe for the output of the cat and cut a recess in it for the O2 sensor. Then I was able to clamp the muffler onto the "new" section of exhaust pipe.

You can get rid of much of the drone by cutting the rear turn down off the OEM or OEM type tailpipe and running a straight section straight out the back. The Dynomax kit shows a straight out the back tip.

I think my Summit orders have always come UPS, although their site doesn't specify which carrier they use, so it may vary depending on whoever is cheaper at the time for your particular location. Can always call them and ask, they have good customer service...

I got the same thing on mine and it's sure sounds better than any cherry bomb or flowmaster 40 on a str 6, you dont have that stupid ricer tone or buzz like from the flow or cherry. No drone like the other mufflers listed.
