How does it sound on the expressway? Drone? Annoying?

I've got a cherry bomb now but starting end of summer I'm going to be taking a 6 hour ride down to SIU for school, so the cherrybomb will be coming off...

Its basically just a touch louder than stock which is what I liked about it. The $$$ was also a factor. So if you just want a little more this is a good replacement.

I've had all the loud exhaust creations throughout time on all my cars ( I'm 50) and now I'm into a little less noise .

If I want a really annoying loud exhuast I'll just tell my wife I spent MORE money on the Jeep !!

I noticed a little increase in hp and torque. As for the mpg's, mine stayed about the same as if it were stock.

What is the best way to tell that your exhuast system is worn out? I just got a new to me '96 which may still have the OEM system. I was looking around under the Jeep last night and noticed some rust on the tailpipe, and the rear hanger is not connected anymore.

So is it time to replace and is this a good replacement for OEM system?

Id say its a very good replacement for the stock system and If the hanger is broken it dosent nessacarly mean the exhaust is shot, however if it is flaking badly from rust or has holes in the exhaust id replace it soon or right away. The exhaust kit comes with new cat back hangers so I wouldnt worry about it if it does need to be replaced. If it dosent have holes or any other problems dont replace it unless you really want to.

For about 100$ you can get a cat-back with a better muffler from performance-curve.com
