Talking dust shields or no dust shields?

Ok so I just got my ford 8.8 to swap the d35. I started prepping it- grinding off the old shock brackets etc.. yay! Excited about this swap.. so here is my question- the dust shields on the disc brakes are all bent up. Is it worth it to fix or just take em off? I know some have said they leave em off cuz they just get full of rocks and mud anyway... what do ya'll think? Thanks
