Default Durango Steering box

Hi boys and girls. I've heard about Durango steering box upgrades. Would a Dakota box be the same? The local boneyards seem too be picked clean as far as Durangos are concerned. But the Dakotas seem plentifull.

From what I have read they are the same. And the part number is the same on autozone.com.

Sweet! my box has a strange clunk and lots of play. I took it out to play yesterday and the 10 mile trip was down right scary. On the brighter side no death wobble. Thanks guys.

If you upgrade to a Dakota box, please report back on any tips or problems you run into pulling it out or using it for guys looking to do this. The more we help each other the better off we all are. We're always looking for JY upgrades too! Good luck!

For True! What year are you pulling it off of? And does it matter what engine it's coming off of?
