Default duplicolor bedliner

ok i am thinking about painting my rocker panel with bedliner. i was just wondeing if i hd to sand down the rockers before painting. and if so what grit do i need for it have 600 grit is that good.

Yes, you get better adhesion if you at least rough up your current finish. I used 200 grit, and then cleaned thoroughly before spraying.

i sanded some and i used green scotch pads in other spots the spots with the scotch pad stuck better. i also used rustoleum because i liked the texture better than duplicolor.

usually scotch brite will work fine, just need to rough it up a bit. If there is any clearcoat it wont stick. Im thinking about doing the same with mine only i want to come up the doors to the body line acrost the bottom

ok thanks o it looks like i am sanding it but would 400 grit work cuz i only have 600 and 400

yea just rough it up and wipe er down. i used one of those sponge sanders and cleaned it really good with some clean shop towels and some acetone from vato zone. dont forget to take your time tapeing out your lines.

May I recommend Durabak to you... they have color choices and some with UV protection... so it doesn't fade
