Default Driving then thrown into reverse

Hi guys, I was driving about 30 miles an hour in a residential neighborhood today when my cousin decided to throw my car into reverse. I am so pissed right now. My car stalled out, then wouldn't start after a couple of tries, just as I was about to call a tow truck it started. Now the car starts fine, like nothing ever happened to it. I know this is hard on transmissions and can blow them. Do you think mine is ok? Is there anything I should check for?

Newer cars have a computer that prevents that, but I don't believe the Cherokee has anything that does that automatically. But you experienced the least harmful outcome, which is a stall. It could have done a lot of damage, but if it fires up and goes like normal then you probably dodged a bullet.

That happened to me once a few years ago (my own fault). Rolled to a stop, waited a minute, started it right up. Been fine ever since.

I threw into Reverse accidentally once (overshot Neutral), tires barked and skidded but didn't conk out, never had problems that I could attribute to it

Haha I know, I think he thought he was being funny trying to throw it in neutral but it went in reverse, I could kick his *** right about now. The jeep seems to be fine right now so I don't think I'm going to worry about it. It just scared the **** out of me when it took me three or four times to start it back up the first time.

Your tracking beacon was just confused for a minute, going forward in reverse. Once they relocated your exact position, they re-activated your jeep. Not to worry.

Ok awesome. When I hit a bump there is a ping. Idk if it has always been there or if it's just my imagination from being paranoid. Haha

What is a passenger in your vehicle touching anything like that.
At that moment in time said cousin would be walking and never touch a vehicle, tool, gun, etc in my presence. WTH was he thinking. He could have killed you, him and anyone around. Your jeep would have been the very least of your problems.

I could have kicked his ***. He's a fourteen year old that thinks he's funny sometimes. He gets to ride in the trunk from now on haha.
