Default Driveshaft U joint help

Here's a video of what I'm trying to wrap my head around. What would cause the ujoint to move inside of the bearing caps like that? The caps do NOT move at all. Worn down yoke possibly? But wouldn't the caps move as well if that was the case?

This is a brand spankin' new rebuilt driveshaft. Literally installed yesterday. All new u joints and slip joint. Everything has been greased as well.

Thanks in advance.

Idk if this would make it move that much, but there's a little plastic spacer in the u joint caps, is that still in place? Sometimes when pulling the caps off the spacer will stick to the end of the bearing surface on the u joint. Otherwise, it looks like maybe the wrong size u joint for that yoke.

Where is your old DS? Measure that Ujoint of the old DS and compare it to your new one. I may be that the yoke is not a stock yoke and takes a different Ujoint. I may be that the Ujoint on your old DS is a conversion Ujoint.

I would not drive it that way, FAILURE is in your near future.

The caps are not moving in the yokes. The trunion is moving inside the caps. If the needle bearings are present then its the wrong trunion for the caps. Could be missing the seals too but it seems unlikely to produce that much play. Also possible that the yoke ears are spread too far apart... measure across the ears and see if they are square at the base and the ends

Yeah, that's not very good for a "new rebuilt driveshaft"
