driveshaft problem!

Default driveshaft problem!

Just bought this jeep a couple days ago and i was looking underit and noticed the driveshaft was not on the transfer case all the way. and im lost on what to do. i dont have much money and need a cheap fix but need help on what i need.

Not exactly sure but i think 6 1/2

Ya. You really need a sye. I think anymore than 4in and its kinda a must

That looks like a 242 transfer case.
You will need a Hackn' tap kit from some one like IronRock. It's about $100 and then a front driveshaft from an Automatic. At least that's what I used.
Plus I'll bet all your vibrations will go away too. Or most of them. You might still have to put shims in you spring packs

What!?!
You cannot tell which t-case he has from that picture.

To the OP,
Cheapest isn't always the smartest move.

You'll need to determine which t-case you have before you can do anything.

Look at the round tag on the rear of the case. It will have NP231J or NP242J stamped on it.

Except for the dust cover it looks exactly like the one I just did. The 231 needs a new output shaft right?
