Drive shaft wobble

Hi - Ive enclosed a picture.. could anyone tell me what those clips are? (im looking for their proper name to order a couple).. and if 2 of them where missing could it cause the shaft to wobble and make a knocking noise.. or is that a symptom of something more serious than missing clips?

They are universal joint snap rings. The u-joint caps are pressed in so I doubt they would be loose enough to move around without the snap rings.

"universal joint snap rings" - thank you!. Not so good to hear that the absence of a couple is probably not responsible for the vibration and knocking noise ive been getting back there.. probably in need of a new u-joint.. I appreciate the help mende21.. many thanx.
