drive shaft question

i have a 95 xj and i want to change the u joints in the rear drive shaft ...once i take off the 2 nuts on the rear joint does the drive shaft just pull out by hand from the transfer case or are there bolts i need to remove ? thanks

To change u-joints though you'll still need to remove those clips like a heavy gauge spring that locks into place so u-joints can't move up & down or in & out.

x2 just pulls out of 95- xjs. I lost fluid on mine when i did it, and I replaced it with fresh stuff, but it may have been overfull, don't actually know how much should actually be in there.

mine is at the correct level ,but after i do it ill post if and how much fluid loss ,thanks

one more question i forgot .should i grease the shaft before i slide it back into the transfer case? .......i was getting a little squeek when i reverse maybe that will help
