If you grab the drive shafts with the xj and try to turn them with the vehicle off and in heutral how much if any should the shaft move? Mine moves an 1/8th inch or so back and forth. Is this normal for a 1992 xj sport 5 spd 4.0 with 168,000 miles on it or is this a sympton of a repair to plan for. Thanks in advance to those who reply.

 

Pretty normal to have some play, yours is within specs.
