drive line sitting to far to the drivers side.
So last week i replaced my rear main, clutch pressre plate, and throwout bearing.. got it all back together minus the transfer case linkage. I went to put the linkage in today and realized the drive line is way to far over to the drivers side of the vehicle. so far the top of the transmission is hitting the drivers side of the tunnel cuttout when i take off..
any clues as to what i did wrong?

that is exactly what i was thinking.. it does look like the passenger side is separated from the metal housing a little bit.. but they surely arent cracked all the way through.
i did do some brake stands and they do flex a little but nothing compared to the gnarly clunk that i am used to in other vehicles.

checked the mount while doing brake stands and it doesnt seem to be moving much..
is there enough room with holes in the crossmember to loosen the four nuts and slide it over?
i cant remember.. didnt give it much of a look when it was going back together.

If I remember correctly there's only 4 holes in the center of the crossmember.
Maybe it needs to be flipped around. On some vehicles it matters a lot.

Im almost positive your cross member was flipped around. if I remember right the 4 holes in the cross member for the tranny mount are about a inch or two more to one side I think I made the same mistake years ago and it gave me bad drive line vibs too

on previous install i did..
i flipped the mount and the crossmember just now and took for a road test.. the shifter is dead in the center now and the clunk has disappeared.
it was a hell of alot easier to put that back together now on my back than it was using a rack the first time.
thanks for all the help and moral support on this one..
cheers to easy fixes.. thanks again!!
