I have a 2001 XJ with the problematic switches and wire looms being cracked so I went ahead and ordered two new front door switches and pulled the wire harnesses from the doors and rewired all the wires to the junction box. A pain in the rear to say the least but done. All of the buttons on both switches work now except the lock function. I can however lock the doors with the factory remote. The unlock function works as it should. Since all of the logic for locking is in the passenger switch, I can rule out drivers side, and I have continuity from all wires through to the junction box. So is there some genius electrical wizard with an old cherokee that can help me diagnose where the fault is?
