Default Door lube?

Sorry if this has been covered, I searched and didn't find it...

On my 97 XJ sport, the doors have started getting pretty squeaky/harder to open and close. It's really getting noticeable on the back doors. It's not that pop everyone talks about, just a pretty even creaking/groaning sound.

I've tried spraying the hinges and that flat arm thing with plenty of silicon spray and have also drowned everything in 3-in-1 oil, to no avail. I seem to be having a problem figuring out exactly WHERE to apply an appropriate lubricant.

That's what I searched for, and no dice.

Can you help me out?

I can't hear my new exhaust over my doors screaming closed...

X2, try using PB Blaster to penetrate to hinges. Grab some white lithium grease and apply a liberal amount on the hinges and rods that keep the doors from opening too far 48 hrs after you use the Blaster. Anything that moves or twists when opening and closing the door, hit it with that combo.

pure silicone spray lube is the best does not attract dirt into the hinge

Silicone spray is great stuff but for heavy duty metal to metal moving parts I like aerosol lithium grease (even though it's kinda messy).

I am for the lithium grease too, but it is messy, then again we have jeeps that are like a decade old so does it matter?

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll try some different lubes.
However, I feel like I'm still unclear on where exactly to lube.
I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so I see obviously where the hinges are and whatnot.
It just seems that when I've sprayed silicon or smeared 3-in-1 oil, the squeaks and groans only mildly abate. It's like I can't get anything to get in to where it needs to be.
Anyone have a pic or advice on how I can better apply lube to get it to penetrate?
Thanks again...
