Default Door depth/Speaker Fit?

Has anyone measured the depth of the front doors to see how deep of a speaker will fit in the stock location?

I installed 6.5 inch Infiniti 6022is in my '92s doors no problem.

Not sure on the depth but it's pretty deep.

According to this thread, 2 5/16" is the deepest...

I had to get 6.5" shallow mount speakers in my 99.
Im running the same speakers as diskman. Infiniti 6022is, which are shallow mount.

I've got a 96 Sport (4 dr) and I have Infinity Kappa 5.25 in the doors and overhead rear pod. No fitment issues whatsoever.

I had Kicker coaxials in my front doors on my '93. The thing is, the window does not roll down in that location so it does not get in the way. I have a clear shot all the way to the door skin. If you need more than that, you may need to mount the speakers on the door panel or build up the mounting location to allow more depth... What is your goal?

Q-Logic makes kick panel pods for Cherokee's.

depends on your year. Older (pre 1997) cherokees have plenty of room. 1997+ cherokees have full door window glass that causes clearance issues. Not sure of the exact dimensions, best take it apart and measure to be sure.
