Can anyone tell me where the Chime/Buzzer is located and what it looks like on a 93 cherokkee? My Jeep seems to be an oddball when it comes to wire colors and options missing or installed when I break out the wireing diagram. Based on the way other electrical components in this thing were dissabled I am hoping the chime is just pulled removed but I don't want to start tracing wires hand over hand till I know what it looks like and where it should be...

Does anyone know if the schematics were differant for Canadian or law enforcement vehicals?

Thanks,

If memory serves me, it's the round silver plug looking thing in your fuse panel under the driver's side dash.

That's the problem, If it's not there or not working I can't tell where it's suposed to be... Parts store and dealership has to order the part so I can't look at theirs and go find mine without buying one first...

I'm betting that they do not go bad often, so I'm hoping mine was removed not disable like my door locks were...

If someone could please take a couple min and look at theirs I would be very greatfull!

It is in the fuse panel left of the drivers' feet, small black box. You will need a screwdriver to release the clips that hold it in.

THANK YOU!
Pics worth a million words and several hours of following wires!

Mine's gone. Looks like I'll "Have" to make yet another trip to the bone-yard and see what all follows me home... "Man, they love to see me pull up!" Last trip, I told them we could both save a lot of time if they would just let me take some rigs home and I will return what I don't need...

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a photo!

I thought I wanted to be rid of it on my first XJ....until a couple days after removing it I left the lights on and killed the battery! Plugged it back in as soon as I got jumped off.

Most people who want to get rid of it haven't had to pay a locksmith to let them back in in the middle of the boonies...

Well, I went to the Bone-Yard and got the buzzer Module. Ended up costing me $37. Actually, they threw in the buzzer and a set of pockets for my door panels for free but the new pivoting wing windows cost the $37...

I have a similar problem with my '94 cherokee. My buzzer goes off when my jeep is started or even when the key is in the "RUN" position. Please help. I want to fix this!

Where is the 'object' that tells the jeep the door is closed? Is it inside of something? My door is closed, yet its chiming away.

If you open the door there should be a small button about half way down the body side.
