door buzzer without key?
I recently purchased an 89 Cherokee 4.0 (53,000 miles!!!).
The door/headlight buzzer buzzes whenever the door is open, regardless of whether the key is in the ignition or not. Is this normal? I have never had any other cars that buzzed when the driver's door was open without the key being in the ignition.
If so, I guess I'll just take the buzzer unit out. Otherwise, all I can think is that the key detection switch is messed up in the ignition cylinder. But the buzzer makes a second buzzing sound when the key is inserted (so, when the door is open and the key is in, there are two buzzer tones buzzing), which makes me think that the buzzer is acting as it was designed to do.
