Not taste tho.. 
You will get used to the different smells as you get more into working on your rig. I tend to make a mess when I work with tranny fluid. I don't need to smell it anymore. I just know if its all over me its tranny fluid.
After you smell the puddle Pull your dipsticks. Open the radiator, Get to know the fluids. I know it sounds dumb. But it will be your first clue to what you are chasing.

Did you even open the hood and look? A better description would be nice. All you really said was "My Jeep is doing something, what is wrong with it?".
