Hi I am changing out my New Spectra radiator that sprang a leak. Amazon replaced it no problem. My problem is the electric radiator fan connector. It has a red tab that I have pulled out some to be able to pull it apart. It is not coming apart... I don’t want to break it. What am I missing here?

 

Maybe the red tab is not out all the way but that is pretty much it.

 

Those tabs can stick. They dont go very far, either. I found this using an image search. Id take a pic of my own by the camera isnt playing today. The tab only goes this far. Pull it out, and push down on the black part at the rear of the connector. Thats what keeps the connectors from seperating. That red tab is just a safety. If the connector itself is still stuck after the red tab is released, theres dirt in the connector.

 

fb97xj1 brings up something. The red tab could be pulled out a tad to far. Slight chance anyway.
And I did not think to mention to push down on the "lever" at the back cause I figured that was common knowledge.
My bad. LOL.

 

Success! It was the black tab that needed to be pushed down I did not realize that it was a two part system.🤨
