Hey guys the dome lights in my 99 decided to stay on today. I had the jeep running and opened the drivers door and the lights never went off when I shut the door. I figured it was a computer problem so I disconnected the battery and they went off and worked properly for awhile. Now they just stay on and never go off. I was wondering if the module that controls the lights when you unlock the jeep with the remote could be at fault?

Try slowlyopening and closing your door..if it flickers you might have a wiring issue in your door...typically in the rubberboot between your door and body.

Check the button that the door pushes when it closes and make sure its not bent or missing. I had similar problem with them not coming on at all, come to find out it was unplugged from the button!

Welp guys I know this is a really old post by me, but I finally found my problem. I spent almost 3 hours chasing wires and going crazy with the meter. I finally found a broken wire behind the right front seat belt, headed to the right rear door. Fixed it and presto the lights worked again, well sorta. It been several months since the problem started, I just removed the lights until I had a good day to look for the problem. Now I can't figure out what style of light goes down by the footwell. Anybody know what light it is?
