Default Dome Light Wiring Help Needed (Custom)

Trying to wire in a two foot LED strip to replace my rear dome light and I can't figure out the wiring. I want the light to come on when a door, the hatch, or both are open and to be off when they are not. Took my meter across everything... Still can't figure it out. A Pink, a yellow, and a purple wire come from the factory dome light wiring harness.

Chassis Ground:

Door Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - Nothing
Purple - Nothing

Hatch Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - 12VDC
Purple - Nothing

Both Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - Nothing
Purple - Nothing

Nothing Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - 12VDC
Purple - Nothing

Purple Ground:

Door Open:
Pink - Nothing
Yellow - Nothing
Purple - Ground

Hatch Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - 12VDC
Purple - Ground

Both Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - Nothing
Purple - Ground

Nothing Open:
Pink - Nothing
Yellow - Nothing
Purple - Ground

Pink Ground:

Door Open:
Pink - Ground
Yellow - 12VDC
Purple - Nothing

Hatch Open:
Pink - Ground
Yellow - Nothing
Purple - 12VDC

Both Open:
Pink - Ground
Yellow - 12VDC
Purple - 12VDC

Nothing Open:
Pink - Ground
Yellow - Nothing
Purple - Nothing

Yellow Ground:

Door Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - Ground
Purple - Nothing

Hatch Open:
Pink - Nothing
Yellow - Ground
Purple - 12VDC

Both Open:
Pink - 12VDC
Yellow - Ground
Purple - Nothing

Nothing Open:
Pink - Nothing
Yellow - Ground
Purple - Nothing

After getting these results, I thought Pink and Purple were my hots, and Yellow was my ground. Tried this and with both open it blew the fuse.

You really over complicated it, lol

Just use a chassis ground and pick the one wire that stays hot with the hatch or door open

using a test light hook the clamp on the pink with the door open then with the other end poke the others un till you get a light that is the ground that will make them come on with the doors and dash

Looking at the diagram for a '97, pink should be battery, the other two are negative's. Yellow should be the switched negative, and black(purple) is the permanent negative for the integral switch.

I thought about doing that, but the only wire that is hot for the hatch open, door open, and both open is hot all the time.. Meaning the light would be on all the time.

Try pink as the positive, conect the other two together and use them as the negative.

I will try that tomorrow, thanks. Wind chills just dropped to the mid teens so I'm done working on the Jeep for the night.
