Default Dome light override.

Just wondering if there's an easy way of wiring in a dome light override. Just want a toggle that turns all the lights off even with the doors open.

Might do that short term. I want the dome lights more often than not though. I need to figure something out I can just put on a toggle.

It would be nice to have something like that in my XJ. My 99 Tahoe has a push button that does just that and it is factory. You just push the button and the light will stay off when you open the doors.

Couldn't you find where all the door jam switches are running, splice a switch into them before they terminate? That should work right? Just need a wiring diagram.

Go to the "ask a question thread" and see if someone can get the diagrams for you. Then see if they can explain which one you'd need to splice into with a switch. Explain your goals too, that might help. Lol

I'm not very good with electrical or I'd help you out more. I barely understand most diagrams.

Really be a @#$%^ to find the correct wiring diagram without even knowing the year.

OP sounds like a tweaker. No offense, just an observation.

If he comes back saying his front speakers, power locks, power windows, turn signals, headlights, brake lights etc no longer work we'll know for sure lol.

Man, rough crowd. Good thing I have pretty thick skin. My fault on not provided the year. I kind of figured that these things changed so little that it wasn't really necessary. I'll fix that from here on out. Its a 1996 Cherokee Country. If you need more let me know.

As far as a goal goes its pretty simple. I want an override on the drivers side dash. Nothing spectacular. Its just a feature that I have had on other vehicles that I like and use.

And on to the name. Not tweaker related, I can see the confusion though. Just something I use because its hardly ever taken when I register to forums.

Just so you know I did search around on here and didn't find what I was looking for. I will take some time tonight to see if I can dig up a wiring diagram but if someone could point me in the right direction on this and/or how the hell to read those things that would be great.
