Hello forum,
I'm a new 96 XJ owner and I already have the dashboard apart!
Had a short in the Dome light harness, melted the whole thing.
Can someone please tell me the name of this red harness clip
and more importantly, how the **** to undo it?! I put a scredriver under
and lifted the top clip, spayed electrical cleaner on it....it just won't come apart!

There's a latch on the other side in this picture. Most are "press down" to unlatch. Some are "lift the tab until it clears" while you pull the connectors apart at the same time. I use a very small flat screwdriver to wedge under while I pull on the connectors.

Many thanks, I've been using that method but mainly lifting up.
I'll try it the other way around.

Just as a follow up here, the reason I could not get that red one apart is that is was fused together in the damage, had to cut it.
