Doing my own thermostat change
Hey all,
I've got a thermostat going bad, and got a new one and a gasket for my 98 Cherokee (with the 4.0). Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial video so i can change it myself?
I youtubed it and it seemed to show a lot of other cars and no close ups on what they were actually doing. Any help appreciated!

Dont forget to release any pressure in the cooling system before hand, just pop the radiator cap. Unbolt-take out old t stat- put in new gasket and t stat- bolt it back together.

Also allow the sealer to become "tacky" before putting it on. You don't want it to smoosh out and get in your block or not create a seal.

Make sure you do a good job cleaning the two surfaces so they are flat. If they have a slight bump or unevenness, the gasket won't seal perfectly, and the pressurized coolant will seep out.
