When buying a lift kit, does it matter if you have a d35 or 8 1/4, low or high pinion? I found a lift that says its intened for a d35 but I have an 8 1/4 and high pinion. Will this work? Thanks for any help.

All XJs have HP front D30s except the 00 and 01s. ALL rear axles installed at the factory in XJs are LP...D35, D44 and ChryCo 8.25. You might possibly have to get different U-bolts as the axle tubes on your ChryCo 8.25 may be bigger than the axle tubes on a D35. I know from personal experience that the D44 and ChryCo 8.25 use the same size U-bolts.

pretty sure the only difference is the u-bolts...d35 is like 2.5" vs. 8.25 3" i think

Autozone has them as 3 1/8",(http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...ior+Automotive) but they are really a little under and work quite well, I've got them on now. 19.95 a set I believe. Got the lift kit for a Dana 35, bet your looking at the RC 3 inch, only thing is u bolts, get them at autozone, napa charges 15.00 each and part number is 650-4025 (1/2" bolt x 3" I.D. x 8" L).

Yeah they work, it's whats on my 96 with a three in lift. Worked great except I didn't know the downfalls of a AAL lift when I got it, definately would have just new lift springs in the rear.
