I would also agree on doing plugs, wires, cap, and rotor with a seafoam treatment.

Just a small reminder if you get the cap and stuff (not sure why you wouldn't lol) make sure it has brass terminals.

Also I know you said you cleaned the butterfly, but did you do the rest of the tb as well?

There is a brittle little tube. It comes out of a rubber plug, low on the engine side of the throttle body. It runs back to the firewall then up to your MAP sensor sort of high up there near center on the firewall. CRUCIAL!! The MAP will tell the ECU to dump fuel with less/no vacuum. Any crack or blockage and it will be pig-rich. (black smoke, fouled black plugs). You can pull the line off the MAP and feel for vacuum with your finger. If it runs!

Just stumbled accrost something new. While idling theres some smoke coming from under the throttle body. The exhaust head. Maybe poor gasket? Or loose bolts? Would this cause it?

Yup pop it off and get some cleaner and an old tooth brush lol.

Just due to what I've seen in the iac and plug, I'm sure it could use it.

I had a vacuum plug completely missing from the TB. Causing a vacuum leak and the map telling the ecu to dump fuel resulting in my black plugs. Is this right? Im gonna buy new champs tomorrow thanks

Yessir' The MAP thought you had it floorboarded. (vacuum plummets with the throttle open) I have it the map "roughs out" the mixture with the temp sensors. Intake air, and coolant, then the 02 sensor helps put the final touch on it. Something like that anyway.

Power, that's the Idle Air Control. IAC The "butterfly" in the TB is all but closed at idle. It has an air passage and a little motor that (a Renix), ECU controls. (91 on, call it a PCM).
