Default does backspacing = stability?

does one achieve any noticeable stability from after market rims with less backspacing than stock rims? i know it obviously widens the stance but is it noticeable under normal driving conditions? 2" lift with 31s would stock rims be inadequate (unstable) for street/highway driving?

It would help with stability, but at the cost of extra stress on the bearings.

you dont need to worry about stability with a 2inch lift.
