So got a 97 cherokee last week and it will only run on three cyl. at a time it'll jump around but no matter what I do I can not get the jeep to run on all 6. Ive tried a distributor, ignition module, spark plugs but when I run the codes it has misfire on 1,2,4 and nothing seems to be making the jeep run any better.... does anyone by chance think it could be clogged injectors or do I have a bigger issue ?

I would first check to see if those injectors are even firing. Use a stick or stethoscope or something similar and put it on the injector and the other end near your ear to see if you can hear a clicking. If you can't its a dead injector. If your unsure what they sound like you should be able to check a working injector for comparison.

Check to make sure you have spark to the three cylinders misfiring, could be as simple as bad spark plug wires. If you have spark and you have tested that the injectors are firing off, then you may want to try a ECU reset/reboot. If that doesn't work then you will have to test the cam position sensor, crank position sensor, and the O2 sensors. Something is giving the ECU bad information.
Hope this helps

I would also look at cleaning up all of grounds in the engine bay. The XJ's can get pretty funky some times with electrical parts, so cleaning the ground contacts could solve your problem and not cost you anything.
